Welcome to the Tradewind Fuel Planner. If you fill in all required information for the airports you are visiting, and the legs you are flying,
it will calculate the optimal airports to purchase fuel at in order to minimize costs.
To get started, press the "Add Stop" button so that you have fields available to fill out every leg. Then fill in every field. Finally, click "Calculate."
Airfield - Enter the airport identifier
Start Fuel - How much fuel the plane has in it at the beginning of the day
Price/Gallon - How much fuel costs at this airport. If the airport does not have fuel available, or you do not wish to purchase fuel, enter 0.00
Waivable Fee - If the airport has a ramp/airport fee which is waived with a fuel purchase, enter the fee here. Otherwise leave at zero
Gallons to Waive - How many gallons you must purchase to waive the above fee. If there is no fee, leave zero
Max Fuel - The max fuel you can carry that leg based upon passengers/baggage. For a shuttle you expect could fill up, you might leave this at 1500 depending upon the aircraft.
Fuel Burn - How much fuel you expect to burn this leg, assuming no diversions/delays
Req Landing Fuel - How much fuel you'd like to land with - normally Alternate Fuel + FAA Reserve + Any Extra Buffer
Incorrect data will result in incorrect calculations. This is beta software and may contain bugs. Verify all calculations by hand, do not blindly trust the outputs and calculated amounts.
